CCCS is proud to announce the release of a new data tool, SART, to assist managers at all levels in the AL sector.

Designed to take data exports easily produced from the MI system (not the ILR), SART produces graphical and tabular printouts showing learner and enrolment numbers against targets, by Subject Sector Area. Leaner age and gender breakdowns are included as are retention and achievement reports, comparing data over three years (where available).

Data entry routines to SART are automated to ensure accuracy.

SART was designed specifically to enhance data presentation for inspection and has been favourably commented upon by all who have seen the results and use the data. Inspections up and down the country have shown that data, while collected successfully, are simply not used to best advantage. SART enables constant updates, showing managers exactly where they are in comparison to targets (graph above shows targets in red against green "actuals") at any moment in time. Data can be updated whenever necessary. However, experience suggests that monthly is appropriate.

Graphs show comparisons by Subject Sector Area both in year and over three years

Fourteen graphs are included for each provider / centre covering all major information.

SART uses the new Subject Sector Area classifications and displays all relevant figures on the graphs so little or no interpretation is required.

SART has pre-formatted printouts for each centre / provider, district and service. So reporting is available at any level required.

The extract below shows one of the table screens. Each year is colour coded for ease of use. The colours used are the same as those used in graphical displays for ease of interpretation.

Screens can be enlarged or reduced to assist interpretation.

SART requires Microsoft Office 2000 or above to be installed on a user's machine (best functionality with Office 2003).

No experience of data entry is necessary neither is any in-depth experience necessary of any Office™ system.

SART is designed to work with TERMS, AQUA, AEC and ACLAIM. It can easily be configured for outputs from other MI systems.

You can use SART in one of two ways:

  • SART can be configured for your use and supplied under support contract;

  • Alternatively, you can supply CCCS with your data on a pre-agreed schedule and we will send you, within 48 hours, the completed work for presentation to managers.

The cost of SART depends upon your user requirements, the size of service (i.e. the number of centres / providers and districts). Typically, configuration, one-off supply and annual support contract starts from £1500 plus VAT.

The Bureau Service typically starts from £200 per month (annual support contract).
